screamThe golden age of the Amiga demoscene

With the widespread popularity of the Commodore Amiga in the late 80's and early 90's, "the scene" went from being a small exclusive community of crackers to becoming a creative youth movement of international proportions.

Håkon "Archmage" Repstad will give his version of this story in a journey though demos both famous and forgotten, supplied by a few personal anecdotes and some reflections about the inner workings of the Amiga demoscene from the late 80's to the mid 90's.


Håkon "Archmage" Repstad in his own words!
 
Norwegian. Born 1975. Working as an editor and graphic designer at a publisher in Oslo.
 
Then: Active as pixel artist and swapper on the Amiga-scene 1988 -1995. Member of the legendary Norwegian group Andromeda since 1989. Has contributed graphics to a number of groundbreaking Amiga-demos, most notably D.O.S. , Sequential and Nexus 7 .
 
Now: Active on the PC/C64-scene 2006 - present. Revived Andromeda as a PC group with last years 2nd place for Noumenon in the PC demo competition at Breakpoint. Contributed graphics to ASD's award winning demo Lifeforce. Member of the Commodore 64 group Instinct . Winner of several graphics competitions on Amiga, PC and C64. Arranger of Oslo Demobeer pubmeets. Contributor of articles to the demoscene magazine Zine .
